Postgraduate research student in library

At the Welsh School of Architecture we offer research students an opportunity to work and study alongside internationally recognised academics.

Our research degrees relate to the School’s established reputation in all aspects of sustainability, architectural history and design-led approaches to research.

There are three available research areas:

The School has recently invested in a dedicated area for research students, the PGR suite. This area provides space for students to study and socialise. In the 2016 Welcome to Cardiff survey, 100% of new postgraduate research students who responded said they were satisfied with their student experience in the first semester.

A list of current and recent PhD and MPhil research students and their projects is available under each research group, listed above.

We are now offering a new PhD in Creative Practice in Architecture available to practicing architects.
