Mae’r MA Gwaith Cymdeithasol yn rhaglen amser llawn dros ddwy flynedd a fydd yn rhoi popeth sydd ei angen arnoch i gael cymhwyster proffesiynol mewn gwaith cymdeithasol. Byddwch yn elwa ar gymorth tiwtora cryf, addysgu sy’n seiliedig ar ymchwil ac ymarfer, a mynediad at amrywiaeth o gyfleoedd lleoliadau mewn meysydd arbenigol.

Ar ôl cwblhau’r rhaglen yn llwyddiannus, byddwch yn gallu cael y teitl Gweithiwr Cymdeithasol Cofrestredig.

Byddwch yn cael eich addysgu gan staff sydd â phrofiad ymarferol ac ymchwil mewn ystod eang o feysydd a byddwch yn ymgymryd â thri lleoliad trwy gydol y rhaglen, gan dreulio cyfanswm o 100 diwrnod ar leoliad bob blwyddyn.

Wedi ei lleoli o fewn amgylchedd ehangach y gwyddorau cymdeithasol, mae’r rhaglen hon yn darparu dull damcaniaethol a beirniadol o gaffael a gwerthfawrogi gwybodaeth am ymarfer gwaith cymdeithasol a’i gyd-destun. Mae egwyddorion hawliau dynol yn rhan greiddiol ohoni.

Achrediadau

Mae gan yr MA Gwaith Cymdeithasol gydbwysedd ardderchog rhwng amser yn yr ystafell ddosbarth ac ar leoliadau. Roedd y cwrs yn fy ysgogi’n deallusol, yn hwyl ac yn rhyngweithiol. Roedd cael y cyfle i gwblhau tri lleoliad gwahanol yn ystod y cwrs yn golygu fy mod i’n gallu profi gwaith cymdeithasol mewn amrywiaeth o leoliadau gwahanol ar draws sectorau gwahanol. Roedd y staff yn gwneud y darlithoedd yn fwy rhyngweithiol na’r arddull traddodiadol, gyda’r cyfle i wneud cyflwyniadau, gweithio mewn grwpiau bach, chwarae rôl a chymryd rhan mewn trafodaethau yn y dosbarth. Mae’r staff y rhaglen yn wych. Mae’n hawdd mynd atynt, maent yn gefnogol ac yn cymryd diddordeb gwirioneddol wrth sicrhau ein bod ni’n cyrraedd ein potensial.

You will be required to complete a DBS (Disclosure Barring Service) check if your application is successful. If you are applying from certain countries overseas, a Certificate of Good Conduct may be required. Strwythur y cwrs

All University and agency-based teaching and learning is structured in accordance with the National Occupational Standards for Social Work and the Code of Professional Practice and the requirements of the Social Care Wales. Furthermore the teaching responds to UK subject benchmarks for social work.

The programme will be delivered between early September and late July of each year with one week vacation periods at Christmas and Easter.

All subjects on the MA Social Work are mandatory/core – there is no optional element. Your specialisation at the end of year two is one subject but splits into one of two themes: adults or children and families.

Your time will be divided between formal study and undertaking practical learning placements.

Mae'r modiwlau a ddangosir yn esiampl o'r cwricwlwm arferol. Byddant yn cael eu hadolygu cyn blwyddyn academaidd 2021/22. Bydd y modiwlau terfynol yn cael eu cyhoeddi erbyn mis Medi 2021.

Blwyddyn un

This is a two-year full-time programme leading to an MA and a professional qualification in social work.

You will spend 100 days on placements in year one.

Blwyddyn dau

You will spend another 100 days on placements in year two. You will choose a specialist pathway (adults or children and families) and complete a dissertation.

Mae'r Brifysgol wedi ymrwymo i ddarparu amrywiaeth eang o opsiynau modiwl lle’n bosibl. Ond byddwch yn ymwybodol er y byddwn yn gwneud pob ymdrech i gynnig dewis, gall hyn gael ei gyfyngu mewn rhai amgylchiadau. Y rheswm am hyn yw'r ffaith mai dim ond nifer cyfyngedig o leoedd sydd ar gael ar rai modiwlau, a gaiff eu dyrannu ar sail y cyntaf i'r felin. Mae'n ofynnol i fodiwlau eraill sicrhau isafswm nifer o fyfyrwyr cyn gallu eu cynnal, er mwyn gwneud yn siŵr y gellir cyflwyno addysg o ansawdd priodol. Gall modiwlau gael eu cyfyngu oherwydd gwrthdaro yn yr amserlen hefyd, ac er bod y Brifysgol yn ymdrechu i amharu cyn lleied â phosibl ar eich dewis, byddai'n syniad da i chi ofyn am gyngor gan yr Ysgol berthnasol am y dewisiadau modiwl sydd ar gael.

Dysgu ac asesu

Sut y caf fy addysgu?

Teaching is offered in a range of ways: lectures, seminars, group work, self-directed study, role plays and in practice settings.

You will be expected to attend all timetabled sessions and are also expected to engage in independent study. You will receive supervision to help you complete the dissertation, but you will be expected to manage your own time to undertake significant independent study during this phase.

You are expected to adhere to the Cardiff University policy on Dignity at Work and Study and to the Social Care Wales Code of Professional Practice.

Sut y caf fy asesu?

Assessment is carried out by a variety of methods including essays, class tests, project work, case studies, practice portfolios and reflective accounts.

Agency-based practice learning is examined and a ‘pass recommendation’ by the designated practice assessor is required together with a pass in academic work.

Sut y caf fy nghefnogi?

Support materials will be provided via Learning Central (Cardiff University’s Virtual Learning Environment) or from study packs specially developed for selected modules.

You will be allocated a personal tutor. Additional support and advice is available where necessary from our Senior Personal Tutor for Postgraduate Taught Students.

Feedback

Feedback on coursework may be provided via written comments on work submitted, by provision of ‘model’ answers and/or through discussion in contact sessions.

Pa sgiliau y byddaf yn eu hymarfer a’u datblygu?

The MA in Social Work is a two year full-time programme, leading to a master’s degree and a professional qualification in social work. It will enable you to build upon your existing academic and occupational experience to achieve a professional qualification in social work, with the range of skills that entails. These all meet the National Occupational Standards in Social Work.

Roedd yr MA Gwaith Cymdeithasol yn hynod ryngweithiol, ac roeddem yn aml yn trafod perthnasedd theori ac ymchwil i ymarfer. Roedd fy lleoliadau wedi fy helpu i ddatblygu sgiliau allweddol ar gyfer ymarfer megis fy ngallu i fyfyrio, fy neallusrwydd emosiynol, a sgiliau ymarfer megis cyfweliadau ysgogiadol.”
