Criminology is the field of study which focuses on crime, victimisation and responses to crime and deviance.

Our courses are interdisciplinary and explore sociological, psychological and political approaches to the subject area.

You can choose from a number of degree pathways:

The undergraduate degrees enable students to build up a range of skills and knowledge whilst developing a critical understanding of the processes of criminological research and debates, and the operation of the criminal justice system.

As a Criminology student you will benefit from being part of a research-inspired environment, and have the opportunity to participate in criminological research projects and visits.

I have enjoyed the opportunities that I have gained ... visiting a running prison in Cardiff as part of my course, attending extra lectures where convicted criminals speak about their experiences, learning about crime from a whole new perspective and really widening my view of the Criminal Justice System in the UK.
