Professional Training Year (PTY) students

We hope you are excited about starting your placement year.

Students undertaking a professional training year in 2023/24 are not required to attend enrolment.

Confirm your programme and module

Please confirm your programme and module BI9999 on SIMS by the end of September once you have received notification that online enrolment is open.

If you're not on a PTY programme

If you are not currently on the version of your degree programme with a PTY but will be going on a placement, contact us at biosi-pty@cardiff.ac.uk, and we will be able to help you to transfer to the correct programme.

If you want to swap to a three-year course

If you will no longer be taking a professional training year and wish to swap from a four-year to a three-year course, refer to the Year 3 page for induction details.
