Enrolment and induction information for the School of Mathematics.

Before you arrive in Cardiff, you should complete online enrolment to confirm your address details and payment of tuition fees.

Please do not attempt to select your modules at this stage. We will be able to advise you on your module choices when you arrive in Cardiff at the end of September.

Undergraduate students

Enrolment events

New first year Mathematics students are expected to attend the following events during enrolment week.

Please come along to the Maths Building and meet in room E/0.15.

Some Joint Honours students might not be able to attend one of the Friday sessions due to induction activities taking place in your other department.

If you are enrolled on the BA Joint Honours degree schemes with music, you will also need to read the School of Music enrolment information to find out details of events you are also expected to attend.

Similarly, if you are enrolled on the BSc Joint Honours Mathematics/Physics degree scheme, you should read enrolment information provided by the School of Physics and Astronomy.

Returning students

If you are a returning student repeating Year One, you should not attend any of the above sessions but instead come along to the Maths Building on Thursday 26 September at 15:00 in room M/0.34.

All Year Two Mathematics students are required to attend a briefing session at the Maths Building in room E/0.15.

All Year Three Mathematics students are required to attend a briefing session at the Maths Building in room E/0.15.

We will provide you with important information and documentation about your year three studies, together with additional information relating to learning and teaching. This session is expected to last a maximum of two hours.

All Year Four (MMath/MMORS) students are required to attend a year four briefing session at the Maths Building in room M/2.06.

If you are an Exchange/Erasmus student wishing to study Mathematics modules, please come to room M/0.37 in the School of Mathematics, Senghennydd Road.

This meeting will be an opportunity for you to meet with School staff to discuss and select the Mathematics modules you will be studying whilst here in Cardiff.

Postgraduate students

All new MSc students should come along to room E/0.15 on the ground floor of the Maths Building for the first induction session.

Additional induction activities

If you are enrolled on the MSc Operational Research and Applied Statistics or the MSc Operational Research, Applied Statistics and Financial Risk, you are required to come along to additional induction sessions taking place in room E/0.15 of the Maths Building.
