Enrolment and induction information for undergraduate and postgraduate taught students in the School of Engineering.
All Engineering students will be required to enrol online. This must be completed three weeks before you start. Please visit online enrolment for more information on how to do this.
Enrolling in advance of the academic session is extremely important as it ensures that your access to teaching and learning facilities will be in place before the start of any teaching or induction activities.
School induction for new students
You will be emailed directly with information regarding your School-based induction activities.
To assist with travel issues and possible quarantining requirements, the start of on-campus teaching activities will be delayed by a week compared with our usual timings.
Therefore, the current schedule for new undergraduate and postgraduate taught students at the School of Engineering is as follows:
- induction and enrolment fortnight starts Monday 28 September 2020
- on-campus teaching activities starts Monday 12 October 2020.
Enrolling students who are not able to attend in-person activities, such as labs from 12 October 2020, should formally notify the School that they will be late arriving by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or use SIMS Online to make an application for a period of remote study (this is a special Cardiff University policy for 2020/21 – more details to follow).
We look forward to welcoming you to the School of Engineering at this exciting point in your life, and we will endeavour to provide a safe and stimulating university experience in this exceptional year.
