Where to find help and support.
Please reach out if you need assistance at any point in your student life. Whether you need help with your studies, finances or personal wellbeing, we’re here to support you.
Student Connect
Student Connect is here to connect you to the services and support you need throughout your student life. Whether you’re looking for help with the enrolment process, need financial advice, or have concerns about your mental health and wellbeing, our advisers are here to help. Raise an enquiry via the Student Connect portal.
Student intranet
Once you’ve completed online enrolment and received your username and password, you’ll be able to access the student intranet. The intranet is your gateway to all the tools, applications, resources and services you’ll need to support you at University.
Personal tutor
You’ll be assigned a personal tutor at the beginning of your programme. A personal tutor is an academic member of staff from your School who’ll provide you with academic and pastoral guidance and support throughout your student life.
Student Mentor
Current students are in the best position to answer your questions about academic and student life at Cardiff. When you arrive you'll be matched with a student mentor from your Academic School. Your mentor will help you to settle into university life, and can support you with academic and non-academic matters.
Residence Life team
We understand living away from home for the first time can be exciting and challenging. Our Residence Life team runs a wide range of free events in university accommodation, allowing you to meet new people and chat with our Residence Life Assistants (RLA). RLA’s are current students who have lived in university accommodation and are there to support you if you’re struggling with the transition to university life.
Student Futures
Student Futures supports you to develop your skills, explore career options and make the most of your time at university. Whether you're looking for careers advice, opportunities to gain experience, support with applications, or ways to build your confidence and professional network, the team is here to help throughout your student journey.
You can access one-to-one guidance, workshops, employer events and a range of online resources designed to help you prepare for your future.
Student Futures is based on the first floor of the Centre for Student Life, where you can drop in for careers advice and support.
