Schedule

Tuesday 25 September and Wednesday 26 September

Tuesday and Wednesday will be devoted to sessions focused on technical skills and getting acquainted with the software and facilities available in the School. You will be assigned a group for these days and will either attend the School in the morning or the afternoon.

Thursday 27 September

On Thursday we will introduce the degree schemes, give you an opportunity to meet other staff and students and talk to you about the services available in the University.

Part-time and joint course students

Part-time students should prioritise the Thursday session if they are unable to attend on both Monday and Thursday.

Students on joint courses where the School of Computer Science and Informatics is not the home school (MSc Computational and Data Journalism, MSc Data Science and Analytics) should attend the Thursday session.

Optional modules

At the beginning of September, a set of introductory videos will be made available to help you select your optional modules for the year. However, it is requested that new students do not attempt to complete the module selection process at the conclusion of online enrolment, since we wish to give you further advice on your module choices once you have arrived in Cardiff.
