Pathway to a diploma in Dental Hygiene, or a degree in Dental Therapy and Dental Hygiene

Our part-time Pathway to Dental Hygiene has been designed for adults who want to return to education to apply to study.

The Pathway to a diploma in Dental Hygiene, or a degree in Dental Therapy and Dental Hygiene, is closed for the academic year 2026-27. The expressions of interest window for the academic year 2027-28 will be open Monday 1 March - Wednesday 3 March 2027. To express an interest in this course, you will need to email a copy of your GCSE certificates to prove eligibility during this window.

Dental Pathway

Modules are taught in the evenings and at weekends. You will study in a relaxed and supportive environment.

After studying the Pathway, you will be able to make an application to study for a diploma in Dental Hygiene (B750) or a degree in Dental Therapy and Dental Hygiene (B752).

How to apply

The expressions of interest window for the academic year 2027-28 will be open from Monday 1 March to Wednesday 3 March 2027.

To express an interest in this course, you will need to email pathways@cardiff.ac.uk during those dates with your GCSE certificates to prove that you are eligible.

How it works

The Pathway is made up of 60 credits. Applicants need to have 5 GCSEs, grades A-C/9-4. This must include English language.
