Pathway to a Masters in Social Work
The Pathway to a degree in Social Work (MA) is perfect for adult learners interested in returning to education.
You will be taught by highly experienced subject specialists. There is plenty of support along the way, especially as we welcome applications from students who have been out of formal education for some time.
After studying the pathway you will be able to make an application to study Social Work MA.
How it works
If you wish to enrol on the pathway, you must have either a degree, 2:2 or above (any subject), or 3 years professional work experience in the field.
The pathway is made up of 60 credits. You will study three 20 credit modules:
Core Modules
- Introduction to Social Science (20 credits)
- Social Policy (20 credits)
Optional Modules
- Understanding Domestic Abuse (10 credits)
- Introduction to Mental Health (10 credits)
- Education and Society (20 credits)
Duration
Under normal circumstances, you can expect to complete the pathway within one year, but you can take longer if needed.
