Socially Responsible Investment Policy
The Investment and Banking Sub-Committee reviews the Socially Responsible Investment Policy every year. This policy reflects the University’s commitment to ensuring that it makes investment decisions responsibly and with integrity.
The policy was reviewed at the Committee’s meeting in May 2026:
- No changes were proposed
- No further exclusion areas were identified
- The Committee discussed divestment from tobacco and fossil fuel exposure and agreed for these to remain at 10%; companies that derive material revenues from these activities remain excluded from the investment portfolio
A review of ethical/socially responsible investment policies across the sector indicates that the University is in line with, and in some places ahead of, the wider sector position on these issues.
