People, Cynefin and Governance Committee
The People, Cynefin and Governance Committee is a Major Committee of the University Council.
It has responsibility for overseeing progress with strategic aims and University Success Measures, and management of opportunities and risks in the following areas:
- People and organisational culture
- equity, diversity and inclusion
- health, safety and wellbeing
- student experience and healthy student lives (outwith matters considered by Senate and its Committees)
It advises and makes recommendations to Council on matters relating to the governance structure and framework of the university.
It ensures compliance with mandatory requirements of legislation and other regulations that apply to the university. It also has oversight of legal and constitutional matters, including the Charter, Statutes and Ordinances.
The Peole, Cynefin and Governance Committee also oversees the nomination and appointment of the Chair, Vice-Chair and independent members of the Council, including keeping under review the composition and diversity of the Council, and arrangements for induction, development and annual review.
