Public engagement

Mae'r cynnwys hwn ar gael yn Saesneg yn unig.

We offer a wide range of engagement activities, so people of all ages and all opinions can understand more about why our research involves animals.

Our engagement activities include:

  • Science in Health, a School of Medicine initiative, in which schoolchildren attend demonstrations of laboratory practice and lectures, including presentations explaining our research involving animals
  • hosting tours for public representatives, friends and family of University staff, visiting students, scientists, and company representatives
  • hosting workshops, for example, with second-year biomedical students to debate the use of animals in research.

Our presentations include photographs from inside the research facilities, to give an idea of the high standards in which animals are kept. Our tours give interested parties a more direct insight into the laboratory and a good understanding of the environment in which our animals live.
