Postgraduate doctoral studentships in Mathematics

We award a small number of funded doctoral studentships each year.

Studentships are sometimes attached to external grant funding. The PhD project will be specified and open to applications. Please read the details carefully to check that you are eligible as different projects have different requirements.

Studentships for UK students cover tuition fees as well as a maintenance grant. In 2018-19 the maintenance grant for full-time students is £14,777 per annum.

Part time Teaching Associates

We are currently offering up to 10 Teaching Associate positions within the Schools of Mathematics and Computer Science and Informatics. These are part time posts with the opportunity to study a part time PhD with all associated fees paid.

EPSRC studentships

We award a small number of EPSRC-funded doctoral studentships each year.

EPSRC-funded doctoral studentships are available for UK/EU applicants, awarded on a competitive basis and subject to research council residence requirements. We anticipate applications for 2020/21 will open towards the end of 2019

Applications for EPSRC DTP studentships within the School of Mathematics for 2019/20 are now closed.
