Public Engagement Co-production Award

This scheme is currently closed.

This award will consider applications for public engagement with science and health research, co-produced with a public community or group(s).

This new award has been developed to build on, broaden and enhance the suite of public engagement opportunities available within the College ISSF3 Public Engagement Development Programme. Proposals are invited from academic project leads at early career researcher career stage or above, based at the College of Biomedical and Life Sciences.

The ISSF3 Public Engagement Co-production Award will consider applications for new and innovative public engagement with science and health research up to £15,000.

Before applying for the award, applicants are strongly encouraged to take advantage of an online learning event which will detail the aims of the award scheme, alongside a suite of public engagement training opportunities which have been developed to place applicants in a competitive position to apply for the ISSF3 Public Engagement Co-production Award.

The Public Engagement Development Programme enables public engagement professionals and academics to present and discuss their engagement ideas, and develop an approach that facilitates a two-way dialogue with the public. Coverage of evaluation methods will ensure we can demonstrate that the public engagement activity has benefited the public’s perceptions and engagement with the topic.

Once fully matured, applications for co-produced public engagement with science and health research will be considered by the College ISSF3 Engagement Panel.

'This new award represents a unique opportunity for researchers and their teams to co-produce science and health research exhibits and experiences with the public. Funded projects will be focused on the key science and health challenges of current and future generations.'
