Student in library

With an international reputation for excellence in research and teaching, we give you the opportunity to pursue your interests in languages and cultures in an exciting, interdisciplinary environment.

We attract a wide range of international and home students each year who thrive on our diverse postgraduate taught programmes. While our highly successful MA in Translation Studies offers you core training in the theory and practice of translation, our MA in Global Cultures is designed to develop your research analysis of 21st century cultural industries and the creative economy.

We offer the following taught courses

Teaching in masters degrees is mainly conducted through seminars, which enables in-depth academic debate and discussion in small, relatively informal, groups. Each course is assessed through a combination of module-based essays or exams at the end of the Autumn and Spring Semesters, and then a supervised research dissertation written during the summer, on a topic of your choice.

Julia Thomas, Diwylliannau Byd-eang (MA) 2022
