Speaking skills course for the 12-week online
This is a 2-week online, focused, one-skill course designed to help develop your fluency in speaking before joining the 12-week online Pre-sessional course.
You will be taught in small groups and lessons will be interactive, aiming to build your confidence in speaking. You will be introduced to the skills necessary to present spoken arguments effectively.
Applicants who enrol on the course will be made a conditional offer for the 12-week online Pre-sessional course.

The course will run from 22 May to 5 June 2024 as a fully online course that you can study from your home country. This course will include live online classes and class tasks between 09:00 and 11:15 UK time (British Summertime).
Assessment and progression
Students will be tested at the end of the course via a one-to-one assessment with an examiner. A student who successfully completes the assessment (reaching the equivalent of IELTS 5.0 in Speaking) will have their conditional offer for the 12-week online Pre-sessional converted into an unconditional offer, allowing them to enrol on the 12-week online Pre-sessional course.
Cost
The course fee for 2024 entry is £220.
Entry requirements
Applicants must have an academic offer from an academic school which accepts the 12- week online Pre-sessional course and one of the following valid English language qualifications:
