Ethiopia

We have been welcoming students from Ethiopia to the University for many years who study a wide range of subjects at all academic levels.

Entry requirements for Ethiopia

Our entry requirements will vary depending on your level of study, the course you are interested in and your English language proficiency.

Foundation programmes

If you have graduated from the national high school system, you may be required to successfully complete an International Foundation Year before entering our undergraduate courses.

Undergraduate courses

For entry to our undergraduate programmes, you will need to successfully complete an acceptable international foundation programme or have good A-Levels/ International Baccalaureate grades or successfully complete years 1 or 2 of a bachelor's degree at a recognised University in Ethiopia.

Postgraduate taught courses

You will be required to have a master's degree from a recognised institution.

Postgraduate research courses

There are a number of possible entry routes to our postgraduate research courses. We will consider applicants who have successfully completed a master's from a recognised institution.

In some cases, applicants may be required to complete a Master's course at Cardiff University prior to embarking upon PhD studies.

English language

A relevant English Language Qualification is also required. If you are unsure of your qualifications or entry requirements, please contact us.
