Ymchwil

Patients being treated

Ein nod yw cynyddu capasiti ymchwil yng Nghymru, ac adeiladu partneriaethau gydag ymchwilwyr ledled y byd i ddylunio, cynnal a chyhoeddi treialon ac astudiaethau sydd wedi'u dylunio'n dda.

Portffolio ymchwil

Mae ein portffolio ymchwil presennol yn helaeth ac yn ymdrin â newid ymddygiad, canser solet a chanserau gwaed, plant a phobl ifanc, a heintiau. Rydym yn parhau i ddatblygu astudiaethau sydd wedi'u cynllunio'n dda y tu allan i'n hardaloedd craidd, gan gynnwys treialon ar gyfer dyfeisiau meddygol, ac yn sefydlu portffolio o ymchwil ar y person hŷn.

Rydym yn barod i ystyried unrhyw astudiaeth neu syniad am dreial sydd wedi’u cynllunio'n dda, hyd yn oed rhai sydd y tu hwnt i’n meysydd ymchwil presennol. Rydym yn annog ymchwilwyr i gysylltu â ni ynghylch partneriaethau newydd a syniadau prosiect posibl gyda'n gilydd.

Cynyddu capasiti ymchwil yng Nghymru

Mae'r Ganolfan hefyd yn cynnwys Gwasanaeth Dylunio a Chynnal (RDCS) De Ddwyrain Cymru. Mae'r RDCS yn cefnogi staff sy'n gweithio yn y Gwasanaeth Iechyd Gwladol a gofal cymdeithasol i ddatblygu cynigion ariannu ymchwil o ansawdd uchel.

Canolfan arbenigedd ymchwil

  • Treialon cyffuriau o'r cyfnod cynnar i’r cyfnod diweddar
  • Treialon ac ymyriadau cymhleth
  • Deall mecanweithiau clefydau posibl a'r ffordd y mae triniaethau’n gweithio
  • Astudiaethau o garfannau
  • Cynnal hap-dreialon wedi’u rheoli mewn lleoliadau cymunedol a lleoliadau nad ydynt yn rhai iechyd
  • Troi ymchwil yn bolisi ac ymarfer

Our mission is to improve the health and wellbeing of society through recognised excellence in clinical trials and other well-designed studies.

Watch a video about working with the Centre for Trials Research

The Centre for Trials Research at Cardiff University is one of the largest registered clinical trials units in the UK. We are organized into four divisions, each with specialisms. We aim to improve the health and wellbeing of society through recognised excellence in clinical trials and other well designed studies.

We have an open door policy, and welcome approaches for well-designed research ideas outside these areas.

Our divisions

Our four divisions are supported by infrastructure funding from Health and Care Research Wales and Cancer Research UK, which means our extensive team of experienced quality assurance, information systems, data management, administration, operations and communications teams work across and support researchers in all divisions. This ensures effective and consistent support for Chief Investigators and studies all the way through to successful publication.

Chief Investigators

We provide opportunities for joint working and development – with new or seasoned Chief Investigators. We work to support appropriately resourced trials and studies across a range of funders (in the UK and internationally) with strategic support of smaller studies.

We will consider any well-designed research study or trial idea, even those currently outside scope. We work in close collaboration with patient groups to deliver high quality outputs relevant to clinical care.
