Tichaona Machiya
Tichaona is a Bioinformatics Training and Development Officer on the project. He specialises in the development and validation of bioinformatics workflows for ISO 15189 accreditation.
Tichaona has over 15 years of experience developing and maintaining ISO 15189-accredited Quality Management Systems for microbiology laboratories. He brings a wealth of practical knowledge to the field of bioinformatics. He is currently applying this expertise to achieve rigorous accreditation standards for computational workflows.
Tichaona holds a Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science from the University of Zimbabwe and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Limpopo, South Africa. Tichaona is working towards his PhD at the University of Botswana, where his research focuses on the epidemiology and antifungal resistance of Candidozyma auris.
