Arrivals and cancellation policies

Information on our deadlines for when you can start a course and alter the length of time you study.

Arrival deadline

As the courses are short and intensive, it is essential that you arrive in time for the beginning of the course. Please note that the cut-off date for the 12-, 10- and 8-week pre-sessional summer courses is 09:00 on the first Wednesday of the course. The cut-off date for the longer 20-week course is the second Wednesday of the course.

If you arrive after this time, you will not be permitted to join the course.

If you have already been allocated a room in University residences, please check the Arrival Information (PDF) for details of when to collect your room key.

Course cancellation

We hope you won't want to leave your course once you've started. If, after arrival, you want to reduce the length of your course for any reason, please discuss the situation with the English Language Programme staff as soon as possible.
