Governance Committee
The Governance Committee is a Committee of the University Council.
It advises and makes recommendations to Council on matters relating to governance of the university.
It ensures compliance with mandatory requirements of legislation and other regulations that are applicable to the university. It also has oversight of legal and constitutional matters, including the Statutes and Ordinances.
Governance Committee also review vacancies for lay member appointments and recommend these to Council.

Governance Committee has several sub-committees:
- Biological Standards Committee
- Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Sub-Committee
- Health, Safety and Wellbeing Sub-Committee
- Open Research Ethics and Integrity Committee (a joint committee with Senate)
