Some contents insurance is included with your University accommodation. Check what’s covered and see if you need to add extra protection for your belongings.
What’s covered
Some contents insurance is included in your accommodation contract, provided by Howden Insurance – the UK’s leading student insurance provider.
Please note the University is not responsible for your personal possessions.
How to check your cover
View your Howden’s policy and check what’s included. Enter the policy number: HH1052
You’ll be able to see:
- what is included in your cover
- key exclusions and limitations
- how to extend and personalise your cover
- your policy excess (the amount you pay when you make a claim)
- how to make a claim
Extra cover
It is important to find out exactly what you’re covered for. You may find that the contents cover is not sufficient and that you need to extend it to protect all of your possessions both inside and outside of your room.
