Avoid delays in receiving your funding.

Student Finance (England, Wales, Northern Ireland, Scotland)

Once you’ve applied to the relevant funding body and submitted all required evidence, your application will be assessed. You’ll be notified via your online student finance account when the assessment is complete.

It can take around 6 weeks for your application to be processed, depending on when you applied.

When you receive your letter of entitlement or award notice check that the university, course, and year of study are correct. If anything is incorrect, update your application as soon as possible.

Amending your application

If you need to amend your application:

NHS Wales Bursary Funded Students

If you’re studying a healthcare course and have opted into the NHS Wales Bursary Scheme via the NHS Student Awards Service, you’ll receive an entitlement letter confirming your funding.

Ensure your entitlement letter confirms:

  • tuition fees
  • grant
  • bursary (if eligible).

If you need to make changes after 1 September, or if you're funded by NHS Wales, contact the Funding and Advice team for assistance.
