Why study Chinese?
Our Chinese programmes provide the perfect opportunity to learn a language and to embrace the fascinating culture of China.
You will learn Mandarin from beginners level and will end your programme (should you pass all four years) at HSK 6, the highest level of Chinese proficiency; an attribute crucial for anyone who wishes to live and work in China or for a Chinese organisation.
Two years in China will provide you with great knowledge of not only the Chinese language but of the day to day culture of China.
Our Chinese programmes are split across Beijing Normal University and Cardiff University with students spending years one and four in Cardiff and years two and three in Beijing. As well as providing teaching in Mandarin to near native competency, this programme will allow students to become fully immersed in Chinese life via modules in Chinese history and modern day Chinese culture.
