HCT119 - Image Interpretation and Reporting in Mammography

The aim of this module is to provide students with the specialist skills and knowledge required to undertake accurate interpretation of mammographic images in screening and symptomatic services to a standard approved by the NHS Breast Screening Programme.

It also aims to enable students to develop skills and competence to recording mammographic image findings appropriately, including making recommendations for further action as part of the assessment process.

This will enable students to become effective members of the multidisciplinary team and make an important contribution to the diagnosis of breast disease and the breast imaging service.

It can be an individual module for Radiographers or other qualified healthcare professionals. It can be part of an MSc Advanced Practice or MSc in Radiography (and PgCert, PgDip).

A clinical placement is required for this module.

Overseas students wishing to undertake this module can only do so with an agreed clinical placement. There would be an additional charge for this. For further information contact the module leader.
