3D urban network analysis

Cardiff’s Spatial Design Network Analysis (sDNA) software has supported several existing projects on modelling pedestrian and cyclist behaviour, including creation of the first successful predictive pedestrian flow model in existence.

sDNA update

We are now keeping sDNA up-to-date with a release for the recent ArcGIS Professional and QGIS 3.0 geographic information systems.

Ultimately this will enable better integration with 3D design tools and simulation of multi-level urban environments; the update will therefore be followed by a test of modelling capabilities for pedestrian flows in the London Barbican district.

Funding

The project is funded by Alain Chiaradia, reinvesting previous royalties received from the sDNA software.
