Daffodils are well known as the national emblem of Wales. But could this colourful flower also offer a potential treatment for brain cancer?
The European Cancer Stem Cell Research Institute and Cardiff University’s School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences are seeking answers to this question after being awarded a KESS-funded PhD studentship.
With £66,000 of funding, this exciting research project will focus on generating new drugs by modifying a chemical extracted from daffodils, and then testing these drugs as potential new therapeutics for brain cancer.
