Forecasting for Social Good

Abstracts are now being received for presentation at the 24th International Institute of Forecasters Workshop, Forecasting for Social Good to be held at Cardiff University on 12-13 July 2018.
The free event, hosted by Cardiff Business School, will address the imbalance surrounding scholarship on forecasting – a planning tool which helps organisations use historical information and judgement to determine the direction of future developments.
Dr Bahman Rostami-Tabar, Lecturer in Logistics and Operations Management at Cardiff Business School and the organiser and event chair, said: “Much has been published on forecasting for financial and economical motives...”
“The aim of this year’s workshop is to expose the importance of forecasting for social good, a concept which aligns with our public value strategy.”
To present at the workshop, submit your abstract (600 word limit) to Bahman Rostami-Tabar by 1 May 2018.

Following the event, selected presentations will be invited to submit full papers for publication in a special issue of the International Journal of Forecasting and Foresight: The International Journal of Applied Forecasting.
