Our broad range of research interests allows us to undertake a variety of research projects.

Our research is funded by grants totalling around £13M per year from a wide range of major funders, including the Research Councils (BBSRC, EPSRC, MRC and NERC), Cancer Research UK, Arthritis Research UK, the Wellcome Trust and the EU (Horizon 2020).

DURESS project

The NERC funded Diversity of Upland Rivers for Ecosystem Service Sustainability project is part of a major Research Council initiative to assess the role of biodiversity in delivering key ecosystem services on which society relies.
