Career Overview

Employed for the past 6 years as a lecturer in the primary care department, SONMS, Cardiff University. Prior to this my background was in general practice nursing, including roles as a practice nurse facilitator for Gwent Health Authority (2001-2003) nurse board member/shared clinical governance lead for Newport Local Health Board (1999-2001) and nurse advisor to TRIP (Turning Research into Practice) (1999-2001). Continue to provide nursing advice to the National Library of Health (NLH) primary care Q&A service.

I write a regular column for Practice Nursing, am a commentator for Evidence Based Nursing and an accredited Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) Systematic Review Trainer. I have recently registered as a part time PhD student with Cardiff University.

Teaching Profile

Provide education for practice and community nurses including diploma and degree modules, foundation courses, practice nurse induction, and annual study day programme. Teach on variety of SONMS programmes from pre-reg through to masters.
