Ocean lithosphere processes

Mae'r cynnwys hwn ar gael yn Saesneg yn unig.

Generation of oceanic lithosphere at mid-ocean ridges is the predominant mechanism of heat and mass exchange between Earth's interior and exterior.

Multidisciplinary research at Cardiff includes exploration of the links between magmatic, tectonic and hydrothermal processes at ridges, especially associated with detachment faults, and understanding the mechanisms of accretion of lower crust in magma chambers and relationship to spreading rate.
