Research Interests
I am interested in the relationship between the structure, dynamics and function of enzymes, as a route to understanding and controlling nature’s chemistry. My work places particular emphasis on how binding partners (small molecules, nucleic acids, or other proteins) affect a protein’s dynamics and how the protein affects its binding partners. Current projects involve dihydrofolate reductase and phototropin domains. This work involves multidimensional NMR spectroscopy, using Cardiff’s flagship 600 MHz Bruker NMR spectrometer equipped with a quadruple resonance QCI cryoprobe, in conjunction with other biophysical techniques.
