New Robotic Arm

An application led by Dr Wassim Jabi to the Cardiff University Research Infrastructure Fund has been successful.

The proposal also involved Prof. Rossi Setchi of the School of Engineering and Prof. Mohamed Naim of Cardiff Business School.

This funding will enable the purchase of a 6-Axis High Accuracy Robotic Arm to research the potential for robotic construction and digital fabrication in architecture. This will be the central piece of infrastructure to kick-start a new research initiative into the linkage of generative parametric design software and robotic construction of innovative architectural components.
