Water connects everything: our ecosystems, infrastructures, homes, and future. From climate resilience and sustainable design to public health, policy, and culture, water shapes research and everyday life in countless ways.
The Confluence invites early-career researchers to come together around this shared and pressing theme. Whether your work directly involves water through science, engineering, or geography, or touches on its wider social, environmental, or cultural impacts, this event welcomes your curiosity and perspective.
Through creative, interactive activities, participants will explore how different disciplines view and respond to water challenges, from flooding and drought to innovation, governance, and behaviour change. The session offers a relaxed, inclusive space to meet others, share ideas, and discover unexpected collaborations with festive refreshments along the way.
Join us to connect, collaborate, and help shape the growing conversation about water’s role in a sustainable and equitable future. Register by completing this form.
Who should attend:
PhD researchers, postdoctoral staff, early-career academics, and professional services colleagues from any discipline interested in, or simply curious about, water and its wider connections.
