We provide advice for governments and policymakers in Wales, the UK and internationally.

We provide evidence and make recommendations to governments and international agencies such as the World Health Organisation concerning matters affecting science, scholarship and public health in Wales, the UK, Europe and globally.

As members of the Health and Care Research Wales Senior Faculty, our scientists provide leadership for health/social care and life sciences in Wales as well as strategic and policy advice. In her role as Chief Scientific Adviser for Wales, Systems Immunity member Professor Julie Williams is responsible for leading the scientific effort and reviewing scientific advice provided to the Welsh government.

Our scientists participate in organisations such as The Learned Society of Wales, Wales’s first national academy of science and letters, and Academia Europaea, a European Academy of Humanities, Letters and Sciences.
