Plan your day

Find out how to make the most of your visit during undergraduate Open Day.

Discover what's on

See what is happening at our events on Friday 26 June and Saturday 27 June, including talks, tours and the opportunity to view our student accommodation.

Download the Visit Cardiff University app to save the sessions you want to attend and use the map to plan your route around campus.

Get it in the App Store Get it on Google Play

Our Open Day programme is also available to view online.

Many of our talks are repeated throughout the day, so pre-booking is not required. However, in the event of high demand, priority will be given to prospective students and the number of accompanying guests in a session may be limited. We thank you in advance for your co-operation.

If you are interested in studying Psychology, some of the School’s tours have limited capacity and will require you to collect a ticket on the day in order to reserve a space.

Our campuses

The University is located across two campuses: Cathays Park Campus and Heath Park Campus. Most of our academic schools are on our Cathays Park Campus, near the city centre.

Our Heath Park Campus is home to three academic schools, offering programmes in Medicine, Dentistry and Healthcare Sciences. It is co-located with the University Hospital of Wales, which is the third-largest teaching hospital in the UK.

If you wish to attend any activities on our Heath Park Campus (which includes Heath Park West), please come to our Cathays Park Campus first and use our shuttle bus service to reduce traffic congestion at our hospital site.

Getting here

Directions to the University can be found on our visitor information pages, including further information about our travel discount, and on-campus shuttle bus services.

To avoid the cost and hassle of parking in the city centre, we recommend using public transport.

Arrival and registration

There is no central registration point. Simply check-in to the event using the email or text message that we’ll send you on the day. Keep an eye on your junk email folders. On arrival, please make your way to your first session of interest, using the map on our app to guide you. However, if you need help at any point, please visit one of our information points listed below where you can also collect a physical copy of our campus maps.

On the day assistance

If you require any assistance throughout the day, please ask one of our student ambassadors (who will be wearing red University T-shirts), or visit one of our information points (listed below) where staff and students will be happy to help.

Open Day maps and copies of our undergraduate prospectus will also be available at each of the above information points.

Accessibility

A few parking spaces are reserved for disabled visitors in the Bute Building. Please email openday@cardiff.ac.uk in advance with your name, vehicle registration number and contact number if you wish to make use of this.

Accessible transport, suitable for wheelchair users, is also provided throughout the day. Call 07812 738578 during the event to access this service from anywhere on campus. In addition, a small number of wheelchairs are available from the marquee in Main Building.

Members of our Student Disability team will be available at our Open Day Exhibition, in the Centre for Student Life, to offer advice and guidance on the day.

You may wish to look at the campus accessibility information so that you can plan your route around the university buildings.
