What do we teach?
Our teaching is centred around the delivery of real-world projects to provide students with the skills, knowledge and hands-on experience required to become a software engineer.
Two core programmes are taught at the National Software Academy. One undergraduate programme and one postgraduate programme, that both follow a semester-based structure:
- Applied Software Engineering (BSc) - this is a 3-year, full-time, undergraduate degree programme
- Software Engineering (MSc) - this is a 1-year, full-time, conversion, postgraduate degree programme
We also have an option for our MSc students to complete a Professional Placement Year following the taught stage, before their progression on to the dissertation stage:
- Software Engineering with a Professional Placement Year (MSc) - this is a 2-year, full-time, conversion, postgraduate programme, which includes up to 12-months of employment within an organisation as part of the degree
“I feel like I've really expanded my knowledge as a software engineer. The stuff we've been taught over the last three years was really utilised within this project."
