HCT401 – Biomechanics of Human Movement: Applications for Health and Pathology

The aim of this module is to give the student an advanced understanding of movement analysis and of the biomechanics and motor control of the neuromusculoskeletal system.

Kinetic and Kinematic analysis of static and dynamic postures and movements will be explored using innovative technologies. In addition, the module will aim to advance the knowledge of cellular and functional anatomy in relation to biomechanics of movement and disease processes.

Students will already have a sound knowledge of human anatomy and movement and will be encouraged to develop a better understanding of the relationship between anatomical structure and function.

This module provides students with evidence to support, and advance clinical practice and an enhanced awareness of research practices in biomechanics.
