Virtual Environment Suite

Our Virtual Environment Suite provides our students with a simulation of a wide range of radiotherapy treatment environments.

The virtual environment radiotherapy (VERT) encourages students to develop skills in using radiotherapy equipment and to understand the complexity of the body and how radiotherapy is adapted for each individual patient. VERT also explores complex equipment and technology and encourages students to develop a deep understanding of radiotherapy equipment.

At Cardiff University, we have invested in resources, for example Vert on Demand, which enhances the experience of the learner and enables students to further develop understanding when they are away from the University.

Treatment Planning System

Virtual Simulator

The virtual simulator replicates radiotherapy treatment and enables students to visualise the anatomy of the patient in relation to a virtual radiation beam.
