Cognitive Behavioural Therapies programme aiming for level 2 accreditation

18 Mai 2022

Health psych

Our CBT Postgraduate Diploma programme (PgDip) is aligning with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP) level 2 course accreditation requirements. The changes will run from September 2022. The BABCP will do an accreditation in retrospect in early 2023 in the hope of obtaining level 2 course accreditation for the 2022 intake.

Level 2 accreditation means that all necessary BABCP minimum training standards are met, and graduates from a level 2 accredited course can apply for BABCP provisional individual accreditation, without the need for further training.

“The main aim of this alignment is to achieve full BABCP level 2 accreditation in 2023, of which we are confident in achieving. This is an exciting prospect for our graduates, and is testament to the high quality of CBT training here at Cardiff University.”
Joanne Williams - CBT Course Director

Our Certificate (PGCert) programme will remain a level 1 BABCP accredited programme. Level 1 course accreditation means that some of the BABCP minimum training standards are met on the programme.
