Data analytics and AI

Through use of the “Hawk” supercomputer researchers are able to capitalise on opportunities provided by the growth in data analytics, Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML). Hawk provides access to Graphical Processing Units (GPU) partitions comprising both Nvidia V100 and P100 GPU nodes for increased throughput required by applications such as MatLab, PyTorch and TensorFlow.

Hawk also supports interactive tools through the use of Open Ondemand. This service provides a web interface for using the supercomputing facilities and makes available tools such as Remote Desktops for interactive sessions, Rstudio Server for a familiar interface to programming language R and Jupyter notebooks for common interface for Python and other programming languages. Access to Linux shell, job monitoring, and file transfer also available through this service.
