International Students

Cardiff School of Mathematics welcomes applications from international students. Cardiff is the capital of Wales and is a vibrant, cosmopolitan city. It is independently recognised as one of the UK’s most affordable cities. The Maths department is within easy walking distance of the Students Union, city centre and student residences. Note that all first year students are guaranteed a single occupancy room in Halls if they choose Cardiff as their firm or insurance choice.

We currently have an exciting scholarship to offer to ALL students paying overseas fees. Scholarships of £2,000 will be awarded to all students paying international fees if they achieve the conditions of their offer. To be eligible, you must be an International student coming to Cardiff University to study a single Honours Mathematics degree scheme in September 2014. You must also choose Cardiff as your first choice. Those who are successful will be notified in writing in September 2013. Note that full overseas fees are £16,000 in 2013/14.

This scholarship will also be paid in subsequent years if an average at a 2:1 level (60%) is maintained.

If you have any questions about this, please contact our admissions tutor Dr Jonathan Thompson.

There is considerable support available to international students at Cardiff. Each student has a personal tutor to help with both academic and personal difficulties. The Student Support Centre, Students Union and the International Development Division also offer support.
