Equality and diversity
We are committed to promoting equality and diversity in all of our practices and activities.
Our aim is to establish an inclusive and welcoming culture which ensures equal opportunities for staff and students of all ages, ethnicities, disabilities, family structures, genders, nationalities, sexual orientations, races, religious or other beliefs, and socio-economic backgrounds.
Athena SWAN
We hold an Athena Swan Bronze Award which was first awarded in April 2015 and renewed in October 2018. The School was commended by the judging panel for developing a protected study time scheme for all colleagues returning to work after a significant period of absence.
We have committed to a range of actions to promote gender equality within our School. We also strive to raise awareness for gender balance across science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects.
London Mathematical Society
The School is a member of the London Mathematical Society's Good Practice Scheme which aims to support mathematics departments in embedding equal opportunities for women within their working practices.
We are a member of Athena SWAN, which recognises our commitment to advancing women's careers in science, technology, engineering, maths and medicine.
