Information for New Undergraduate Students: August 2013

This information below is intended for all those who have been offered a place to study at the School of Mathematics, to commence at the end of September 2013.

Congratulations on gaining a place in the School of Mathematics at Cardiff. We look forward to seeing you at the end of September and hope you will enjoy your time in Cardiff, both academically and socially.

During September, you will be sent the necessary information regarding your arrival in Cardiff and the commencement of your studies. However, we hope that the information below will answer your immediate questions.

Enrolment/Freshers Week takes place from Monday 23rd September to Friday 27th September. The first event new first year students will be required to attend will be an Introductory Talk in the School of Mathematics at 2.00 p.m. on Tuesday 24th September in Lecture Theatre E/0.15 (in the Mathematics Institute Building). Students will also be required to enrol with the university using an online process, and in most cases it is anticipated that you will be able to do this during the four weeks prior to coming to Cardiff. The Students' Union and Student Societies will be organising other events throughout Freshers Week. Lectures will begin on Monday 30th September.

Most new students will arrive in Cardiff during the weekend of 21th/22nd September - however, the university residences section will inform you of exactly when you can move into your university accommodation.
