Centres and groups

We have three noted research centres which are tackling legislative, cultural and linguistic studies.

Cardiff Centre for Welsh American Studies

The Cardiff Centre for Welsh American Studies promotes the study of the culture, language, literature and history of the Welsh in the Americas, and in the United States, Canada and Patagonia in particular.

Language, Policy and Planning Research Unit

The Language, Policy and Planning Research Unit (LPPRU) was created early in 2005. Our emphasis is on understanding the social, economic and environmental implications of language over both time and space.

Literature, Theory and Creativity Research Unit

The Literature, Theory and Creativity Research Unit explores Welsh literature and the creative process from its beginnings to the present day.
