Undergraduate Open Day parking
Due to the number of visitors who attend our Open Days, we recommend using public transport to visit the university, where possible, as the surrounding roads can get very busy.
Travel discounts are available with selected public transport providers.
However, for those visitors who are driving to our Open Days on Friday 26 and Saturday 27 June, a limited number of free visitor parking spaces will be available at selected University car parks.
Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be pre-booked. We will use our app to inform visitors when a university car park becomes full, so please ensure you enable notifications!
Parking spaces are limited and we cannot guarantee a space for all Open Day visitors. We anticipate that our available car parks will fill up quickly and therefore recommend you familiarise yourself with other parking options nearby or parking in the city centre.
Please note, our Cathays Park Campus is situated in the Civic Centre. On-street, paid parking in this area is separate from University parking and is enforced by Cardiff Council. Please ensure you purchase a ticket, should you wish to park in one of these paid spaces.
Please also be aware that, due to a concert at Blackweir Fields on Friday 26 June (our next Undergraduate Open Day), there will be road closures in the vicinity of our campus from 16:00. Event parking fees will be enforced throughout the day around the Civic Centre at a charge of £20 per car. The Open Day on Saturday 27 June is not affected and normal rates will apply.
Visiting the Heath Park Campus
If you wish to attend any activities on our Heath Park Campus (which includes Heath Park West), please come to our Cathays Park Campus first and use our shuttle bus service to reduce traffic congestion at our hospital site.

Within the selected car parks, attendees can park in any of our general parking and pay-as-you-go bays during Open Day, but not in the University fleet parking or assigned Blue Badge Bays (unless you are a Blue Badge holder).
There will be no electric vehicle chargers available for use during the Open Day. The bays may be available for parking, but the chargers will be out of service.
Accessible parking
Accessible parking and accessible transport are also available throughout the day.
