certificate

Wide range of courses

We provide a wide range of master's degree programmes which have been accredited by the professional engineering institutions, and our research opportunities cover all of the major engineering disciplines.

briefcase

Excellent graduate prospects

Our postgraduate students have excellent career prospects as we have close links with industry and our graduates are highly regarded by employers.

I found the course particularly interesting as most of the coursework has practical applications and is relevant to what's currently happening within the electricity industry. I was lucky enough to be recruited by Alsthom Grid during my studies and started working with them as soon as I handed in my dissertation. I enjoyed the diversity within the school and met students from Brazil, Greece, Germany, Nigeria, China, Japan and my home country Ireland.

The Geoenvironmental Engineering (MSc) course appealed to me because there was a broad range of topics and I had the flexibility to focus on areas of interest through optional modules and the dissertation project. I continue to use these skills in my current role as a consultant. The postgraduate study helped me to gain employment and I have since progressed quickly in my field.

Research careers

Dr Agustin Valera-Medina talks about his research career journey to date in an inspiring video for prospective postgraduate research students.

I chose Cardiff University because of the opportunity to work in an inspired research environment with people who care not only about the quality of the work they are doing but its greater impact. The level of support fosters a positive learning environment and encourages research students to step out of their comfort zones, embrace their abilities and be impactful with their work.
