Due Diligence

Where we collaborate with partners, in the pursuit of the University’s aims and objectives, and it is important that partnership is suitable and aligns with our values and responsibilities.

Staff in those areas considering establishing a partnership are responsible for carrying out proportionate due diligence assessments. To help staff undertake these assessments, the University has a Due Diligence Framework which contains the Due Diligence Policy and procedure.

The Framework acts as a practical guide, explaining how staff should evaluate suitability, consider risks and demonstrate accountability. In this way, staff help the University to meet its legal and wider obligations.

It supports accountable decision making and helps ensure that our partnerships are ethical, responsible and in the best interests of the University and the communities we work with.
