I joined Cardiff School of Social Sciences in February 2014 where I am both a lecturer in quantitative research methods as part of the Q-Step Programme and a Research Associate for PHIRN (the Public Health Improvement Research Network). Before joining Cardiff University, I worked as Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the National University of Ireland, Galway working on the Health Behaviour in School-aged Children Study.Educated at Cardiff University (BSc Psychology), I am also a graduate of Cardiff Metropolitan University (PhD, PgCTHE and MSc Health Psychology). My academic background is in Psychology with specific focus on Health Psychology. My PhD and Post-Doctoral research used mixed methods to explore adolescent sexual risk-taking and teenage pregnancy. Currently, my research interests include adolescent sexual health and sexual risk-taking behaviour, youth participation in research design and the application of quantitative methods in social science.

My main research interests are in the area of health psychology and
public health. I am interested in the social determinants of young
people's health, wellbeing and health behaviours and the development and
evaluation of interventions to improve public health. In particular, my
research interests include adolescent sexual health and sexual
behaviour with a specific focus on teenage pregnancy. I am also
interested in youth participation in research design and the application
of quantitative methods in social science.
